Statement of Principles

Oceans of Mercy, Inc is a non-denominational Christian organization dedicated to meeting the needs of people regardless of their race, religion, gender, socio-economic status or physical disability.

What does that mean

  • The foundation of this organization is Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 3:11
  • We commit to honor Jesus Christ in all that we do. Colossians 3:23
  • We will help transform the lives of children and families in need in the name of Jesus Christ. Matthew 25:45
  • Our assistance extends to all people, regardless of beliefs, gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status or physical disability. Matthew 25:34-36
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 12:12, 27.
  • We commit to directly impact each child's individual holistic development through spiritual, physical, social and economic means. Luke 10:30-37, Matthew 18:10-14, James 1:27, James 2:16.
  • We commit to be an organization that will pray for direction and inspiration from God, personally and at organizational meetings. Philippians 4:5-7
  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. II Timothy 3:15-17.
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6.
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. John 1:1-4; Matthew 1:23; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 & 4:15; Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24; I Corinthians 15:3-4.

Oceans of Mercy is committed to a Biblical standard of Christian conduct. As an organization we strive to work together in harmony and accomplish the purpose to which God calls us. Moral conviction and self-discipline are as important as the programs we provide. The following Code of Conduct should reflect heart obedience to Biblical principles for our organization.

Oceans of Mercy Code of Conduct:

  • seek to serve Christ faithfully and hold His name as supreme;
  • strive to model and promote the concept of Christian stewardship among our constituents and the organization at large;
  • comply with all federal, state, municipal and/or provincial laws governing charitable giving;
  • avoid or otherwise disclose all potential conflicts of interest; maintain and encourage high levels of professional competence and professional skills development;
  • accurately portray the mission of Oceans of Mercy in all our communications; deal charitably, fairly, and honestly with other professionals and organizations;
  • maintain confidentiality in handling donor and prospective donor records; offer public recognition and appreciation for a gift only after donor permission has been granted;
  • ensure accurate use of designated gifts, optimal management of all solicited funds, and truthful reporting.
